Special Low Pressure Boiler License Course

Course Description:

This course leads to a state special license, which is the first step needed to operate or tend to low pressure stationary steam boilers and auxiliary steam equipment, such as pumps, compressors and air conditioning equipment.

A few career pathways for individuals interested in this course are Janitorial, Building Maintenance or Apartment Caretaker positions.   

Requirements:

  • 8-week commitment
  • One of the following reading scores
    • ELL Level C +
    • TABE 11/12 M 442+
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift 60+pounds
  • Ability to bend, squat, and climb ladders

Register in person.

  • Walk-ins are accepted. No appointment needed.
  • Plan to spend up to 2-3 hours for registration (includes testing and scheduling).
  • Bring a photo ID and your device (phone, tablet, or laptop) if you plan on taking online classes.
  • Please do not bring children with you.
